Thirds Leave It Late

Ealing Trailfinders third XV showed that they should be among the challengers in the coming season with an impressive display away to Bracknell fourths on Saturday.

Alex Potter slotted a late penalty to complete a comeback, but at one point a win seemed a long way off when the home side led 19-4 at half time, and then 33-14 with 20 minutes remaining.

Tries from Theo Szweda, Raymond Tyaba, and Hugo Rocco brought the thirds within touching distance, and when the side won a last minute penalty, captain Dan Ford pointed at the posts and Potter had the range from 30 metres out to the right of the posts.

This season the thirds will play in Middlesex Merit Table 3, with the season due to start on 26 September.
