1871 sides enjoy strong weekend across all three teams

It was a successful weekend for the Ealing Trailfinders 1871 sides, with all three teams recording impressive victories in their respective fixtures.

The 2nd XV produced a dominant second half display to defeat Old Priorian RFC 43–12. After a disrupted start and an early setback, 1871 responded well with tries from Alex Tarrant and Marquis Daly-Vidal to take control before the break. A powerful forward effort after half time saw Theo Szweda score twice, while Mihai Boian and Danny O’Sullivan also crossed as the hosts pulled away for a convincing win.

The 1st XV secured a dramatic late victory against Old Haberdashers RFC, winning 26–24 in a fiercely contested encounter. Early control and a try from Reggie gave 1871 a 14–7 half time lead, but Old Haberdashers rallied in the second half to move ten points ahead. With time running out, captain Lewis chose to kick for the corner rather than take a penalty to level the match. The decision paid off as a driving maul allowed Reggie to power over for the decisive try in the closing minutes.

Meanwhile, the 3rd XV delivered the most emphatic result of the day with a 72–5 victory over Northolt RFC. Mackenzie Hillier, Dan Ford, Rory Williamson and Chinh Patterson each scored twice in a free scoring performance, with further tries from Olly Stevens, Connor Godfrey, Jake Horsley and Zack Raynet completing the rout.

Across the club it was a weekend of strong performances and resilience, as the 1871 teams continue to build momentum towards the closing stages of the season.
