1st and 3rd XVs score big for 1871 last weekend
Supporters were treated to a memorable set of results as all three senior sides enjoyed success over the weekend.
The 1st XV produced a remarkable away performance against Wasps, registering thirteen tries in an eighty five point showing that combined set piece authority with ruthless finishing. A rapid opening period laid the platform, and sustained pressure saw the lead stretch to forty five points by the interval. Will Day, George Emmerson and Archie Baxter each crossed twice as the visitors kept the tempo high throughout. The intensity did not dip after the break, further scores followed and the defensive effort remained tight to secure a deserved clean sheet.

The 3rd XV added to the club’s strong weekend with an entertaining victory over Hanwell. Ten different players found their way over the line, showcasing the squad’s depth and ambition, while Alex Adide contributed five well struck conversions. It was a confident display that highlighted the side’s willingness to play with width and ambition.
