1871 1sts run riot in 98–7 win over Wasps as 2nds and 3rds share mixed fortunes

Ealing Trailfinders 1871 1sts 98–7 Wasps

A commanding performance from the 1st XV delivered a huge victory over Wasps, with attacking rugby flowing from the opening minutes and maintained throughout.

The scoring began early with Ilan Trowbridge crossing, quickly followed by Lewis Steadman and Will Day as Ealing established complete control of territory and tempo. The forwards and backs combined effectively, with Gereint Price, Carlos Duarte, Aidan Jones, Josh Steadman, Cillian Corkery, George Emmerson, Leo Codrington-Lambert and Reggie Elliot-Jones all adding to a relentless try tally.

Harry Vidler was outstanding from the tee, contributing a succession of conversions in a near flawless kicking display, while Ealing’s defensive line remained largely untroubled for the majority of the match.

Wasps managed a single second-half try, but it did little to disrupt Ealing’s momentum as the hosts continued to apply pressure and finish strongly. The result underlines a dominant all-round performance built on pace, accuracy and sustained intensity.

Ealing Trailfinders 1871 2nds 26–28 Twickenham

A tightly contested fixture saw the 2nds edged out in a physical and momentum-driven encounter against Twickenham, in a match that swung repeatedly throughout.

Twickenham struck first through an early penalty after an offside infringement, setting the tone for a scrappy opening phase where both sides battled for control in the middle of the field.

Ealing responded through Logan Flint, who powered over from close range after strong work from the pack. Twickenham replied with a well-worked try from broken field play, but Ealing regained the lead just before half-time when Luke Beasley finished smart support play following a deft offload from Theo Szweda. Harrison Slater added the conversion to give Ealing a narrow advantage at the break.

The second half began brightly for Ealing, with Afzaal Ijaz finishing a powerful attacking move initiated by Junior Peni and Aidan Summerfield, who again added the extras. Twickenham, however, stayed in the contest with a mixture of physical carries, set-piece pressure and accurate goal-kicking.

Further scores followed from both sides, including another well-earned Ealing try from Szweda after sustained pressure from a driving maul. Despite efforts to close out the game, repeated penalties at the breakdown proved costly, allowing Twickenham to edge ahead in the closing stages.

A frustrating finish for Ealing, who will take lessons from discipline and breakdown accuracy in a match decided by fine margins.

Ealing Trailfinders 1871 3rds 38–31 Hanwell

The 3rds secured an entertaining and hard-fought win over Hanwell in a high-scoring contest that showcased attacking intent from both sides.

Ealing’s try scorers included Dawid Czop, Jevon Sturge who crossed three times in an impressive individual display, Christopher Fenn and David Vater, reflecting a well-balanced attacking performance across the squad.

Daniel Thompson was reliable from the tee, contributing four conversions that proved vital in maintaining the scoreboard advantage.

Hanwell remained competitive throughout, but Ealing’s ability to finish opportunities and maintain pressure in key moments ultimately secured the seven-point victory.

A positive result to round off the weekend, with plenty of attacking highlights and strong individual contributions across the squad.
