Ealing Trailfinders 1871 Crowned 2025 Papa Johns Men’s Counties 1 South Plate Champions

Ealing Trailfinders 1871 have claimed victory in the 2025 Papa Johns Men’s Counties 1 South Plate Final after a thrilling 24 – 28 win over Old Bristolians.

In what was a closely contested final, Ealing held their nerve and edged out their opponents in a nail-biting finish, bringing home a hard-earned piece of silverware. Their path to the final saw impressive performances, with a commanding 14 – 43 victory over Southwold in the quarter-finals followed by a 29 – 43 triumph over Weybridge Vandals in the semi-finals.

This achievement marks an extremely exciting time for the club. Alongside the 1871 side’s cup success, the 1st XV capped off their season with a strong 4th place league finish, the 2nd XV secured the MMT Bowl title, and the 3rd XV are battling for honours in the play-offs.
