2nds run riot as 3rds show true grit in spirited fightback
It was a full and exciting weekend for Ealing 1871, with both the 2nd and 3rd XVs putting on entertaining performances packed with effort, skill, and plenty of points.
Ealing 1871 3rd XV 24 – 37 Actonians
The 3s had a tough start against a sharp Actonians outfit, who took advantage of early chances to build a lead. But after regrouping at half-time, Ealing came out firing and produced a strong second-half performance full of determination and hard running. Dan Ford crossed twice, with Adrian Coa adding another, and a penalty try giving the hosts further reward for their pressure. Ford also slotted a conversion to round off the scoring. Though the comeback fell just short, the team showed plenty of heart and promise to build on.
Ealing 1871 2nd XV 77 – 7 Grasshoppers
The 2s delivered a statement win, running in twelve tries in a commanding display against Grasshoppers. Kavan Fitzpatrick led the way with a hat-trick, while Joe Banks was flawless from the boot, converting all eleven attempts. There were tries from Liam Mulvihill, Archie Baxter, Luke Beasley (2), Alex Tarrant, Keatan Gill, Niall Reilly, and Nicholas Dawes in what was a complete team performance. Fast, clinical, and confident, the 2s showed exactly why they’re pushing hard for top spot in their league.
