Ealing Trailfinders 1871 secure victory against competitive Twickenham in thrilling pre-season clash
Ealing Trailfinders 1871 Men’s combined 1st and 2nd XV hosted Twickenham RFC on Saturday 16 August in what proved to be an excellent pre-season contest. The match gave both clubs the chance to showcase the hard work put in over the summer and provided plenty of entertainment for supporters.
Played across four 20-minute quarters, Ealing 1871 came out on top with an impressive 46-26 victory. The hosts ran in eight tries, with Lewis Steadman crossing twice alongside efforts from Sevanaia Laceretabua, Theo Szweda, Ben Pothercary, Noah Steward, Joe Kelly and Marquis Daly-Vidal.
The afternoon also marked several debuts in Ealing colours. Calum Gillie, George Emmerson, Ben Pothercary, David Coleman and Tarisai Williams all made their first appearances for the club, while Marquis Daly-Vidal earned his 1st XV debut and Ed Reid was handed his first start at this level.
