Trailfinders 1871 3rds power past UCS with ten-try home triumph
Ealing Trailfinders 1871 3rds produced a convincing performance in a 56 to 5 win over UCS, showcasing their trademark direct running and control throughout. The forwards set the tone early and the backs capitalised, with the home side crossing for ten tries.
Hooker Jonnie O'Neil stood out with a strong all round display and shared the player of the match award with David Vater, whose carrying repeatedly put 1871 on the front foot. One of the evening's most memorable moments came from an unusual line-out mishap, as nobody jumped for the throw. The ball sailed untouched to the tail where prop Callum Clayton-Smith gathered and powered through to score.
The tries came from Dan Ford with two, Vater with two, Dan Nethercote, Rob Lyall, Clayton-Smith, Niko Laqeretabua, O'Neil and Alex Adide. Conversions were added by Ford with two, Lyall and Adide.
